Hey there, I saw some of your customs on Spanky Stokes and Vinyl Pulse that lead me to this site. I couldn’t find contact information anywhere so I hope this reaches you. My gallery The Rusted Nail is having an open call for artists for the Robots and Rayguns show Friday April 8th. I think your work would fit in nicely wit the Steampunk and Robots theme. If you’d be interested in being a part please contact me at rustedhalo@cox.net

    Take Care,
    Danny

    Hi Benco,

I came across your art on Behanced and you do fantastic work! I’m the Seattle Showcase Director for RAW:natural born artists. I’d love to invite you to showcase as a RAW artist on July 7th.

Every first Thursday we have an eclectic artist showcase it iMusic. There is a gallery of 10 visual artists(like yourself), a live musical performance, a short film screening, a performance artist of some kind, and a fashion show. Each of these showcasing artists are also featured on the RAWartists.org website, and we make a video about each artist and take portfolio photos of each one. Here is an example of the videos we make for our RAW artists: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ooi2cRg5jg4&feature=related

The idea is to have the big night of the art showcase event with 400+ people in attendance, but also to provide tools and resources for self-promotion in the future. There’s more info on our website here: http://www.rawartists.org/ or in this video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsUKsyAIkEw

Let me know if you’re interested. You can write or call me anytime.

    Keep up the good work!

shaggies-gold-trophy-3

Looking at the finished product the words seems to disappear and reappear depending of the angle of vision I wanted to create that subtle read to reflect the process of a design award judging. A trained eye can see things differently , and if judges look at the competition entries the right way you might discover that hidden quality that deserve a gold award.

About the competition:
IDSA northwest aka The shaggies design award crew asked me to design the gold award trophies. The NWDI ( the Northwest Design Invitational) competition has evolved and is now called The Shaggies, which celebrate a more down to earth vision of a design award competition ,a competition that reflect the future of design with a touch of what’s in our bones: a soft, fuzzy, curious nature that’s wrapped in a smart, hard-working, exacting layer of high-standards.

about my process;
the bronze and silver awards were going to be letterpress (paper) , the best of the show was going to be a 3d chainsaw sculpture (wood) .so my goal for the gold award was to find the missing piece between those two I started to explore the 2d/3d relationship and created that 3d wood piece that seem to be made out of 2d layers, all those layers representing the steps to create the final product .I wanted for the trophy to be a mix between the natural beauty of the wood ( raw materials) and the precision of a modern technology (Laser engraving) creating a subtle yet strong read of the words”shaggies gold”

Roger Molls portrait.

This piece was originally created for Roger Molls 1st album “Rewind” artwork , Digital album available here
Roger Molls is a Musician and a video creator promoting the positive side of hip hop culture, dancin’, breakin’ scratchin’ everywhere in the world.
His music style is definitely a unique blend of eclectic music, history, and culture with a touch of 70’s and blaxploitation roots , from influence from old 60’s/70’s beats of classic like serge gainsbourg or James Brown, Curtis Mayfield or even France GAll to creating his own music videos to featuring new american and european Mc’s like Above Ave or Art-cons ,Roger is a beast, a passionate , a talented individual and before all that , an awesome friend .
His attention to detail in the sound of each musical piece is just delightfull
Stay tuned for the infos about the album release.
Final Photography for the album Rewind comes from Samuel Amez .

About the painting:
